Landbou. BKB het vanjaar vir die eerste keer die gewilde SWASA kursus in Augsburg Landbougimnasium, Clanwilliam, se wolskuur aangebied. Hierdie kursus gaan onder andere oor die volhoubare bestuurspraktyke van skaapboerdery. Die kursus was ook bygewoon deur boere en landbou belangstellendes van buite. Baie van hulle is oudleerders.
BKB is betrokke by Augsburg se boerdery deur te help met die tegniese landbou bestuur en bemarking. Hulle is ook betrokke by Augsburg se skaapskeerspan deur oefengeleenthede te reël. Hulle help ook met die instandhouding van die skool se skeermasjiene.
Spesiale dank aan veekundige legende, Giepie Caldo, wat op so besonderse wyse sy landbou ondervinding en navorsing met die studente gedeel het. Dankie ook aan die area bestuurder, Niekie Loubser. Hy is deur die jaar by Augsburg betrokke is met skaapskeer en tegniese advies.
Dit is ‘n voorreg om gevorderde landbou opleiding vir die gemeenskap ook aan te bied!
Agriculture. BKB presented the popular SWASA course in Augsburg Agricultural Gymnasium’s wool shed. It was also for the first time this year. Among other things, this course will deal with the sustainable management practices of sheep farming. The course was also attended by farmers and interested parties from outside. Many of them are also former learners.
BKB is involved in Augsburg’s farming operation by assisting with the technical management and also marketing. BKB is also involved with Augsburg’s sheep shearing team. They also organize training events and assist with the maintenance of the school’s shearing machines.
Special thanks to animal legend, Giepie Caldo, who shared his experience and research with the students in such a special way. Thank you also to the area manager, Niekie Loubser. He is also involved with sheep shearing and technical advice throughout the year at Augsburg.
