SA National Cross-Country. Young athletes from Curro Hazeldean have taken the SA National Cross-Country Championships by storm in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) this past weekend. It was a competition where there’s just one coveted medal per age category. These Hazeldean heroes and heroines defied the odds, clinching an incredible four gold and one bronze medals.
A total of 18 athletes from the Pretoria-based school proudly represented their beloved province. They were also part of the Gauteng North Cross Country Team. According to Executive Head Pierre le Roux, their achievement is nothing short of legendary. “A huge well done to all the learners involved. No other school in the nation can boast of such an impressive medal haul. It also made Curro Hazeldean the undisputed champs of the day. Our brilliant young athletes have also proved that they’re a force to be reckoned with on the cross-country circuit and we couldn’t be prouder of them.”
A huge well done to the following youngsters who have not only put their school on the Cross-Country map but have also showcased the indomitable spirit of Gauteng North.
