Interhoër Atletiekkampioenskappe. Bethlehem Voortrekker Hoërskool se atlete doen dit weer! Bethehem Voortrekker is die Topskool tydens Vrystaat Interhoër Atletiekkampioenskappe in Sasolburg.

Talent. Toewyding. Topafrigters. Dit is die BVHS atlete se bestandele vir hul wenresep. BVHS wen die byeenkoms oortuigend uit 188 Vrystaatse skole. Die atletiekseisoen het vele hoogtepunte opgelewer vir die skool se atlete. Hulle het die Graanveld en die Oos-Vrystaat byeenkomste oorheers. Die wil om te wen en met trots uit die stryd te tree, was in elke byeenkoms duidelik sigbaar. Om die top atletiekskool in die Vrystaat te wees, is vir Bethlehem Voortrekker Hoërskool ‘n baie groot eer.

’n Ryke medalje-oes was die gevolg van puik tye en afstande. Voortrekker sluit die dag af met 63 medaljes waarvan 30 goud, 16 silwer en 17 brons was.

Die dag is ook gekenmerk deur die twee rekords wat verbeter is. Carise van Rooyen verbeter die o/16 2000m dogters Vrystaat Hindernisrekord: 07:32:89. Andaline Warren verbeter die dogters o/14 stap Vrystaat rekord: 29:13:93.

BVHS se aflosspanne het ook goud huistoe gebring. Drie goud, drie silwer en twee brons het aan die Trekkerspanne behoort. Hulle het die skare behoorlik op hul voete gehad!

Volgens Mnr Andi Wolmarans, atletiekhoof en afrigter, het die atlete se toewyding en liefde vir die sport by die byeenkoms vrugte afgewerp. Hy bedank ook elke afrigter wat individueel by BVHS se atlete betrokke is. Sonder hul kundigheid sou die atlete nie met hierdie prestasies kon wegstap nie.

Inter-High Athletics Championships.

Bethlehem Voortrekker High School’s athletes are doing it again! Bethehem Voortrekker is the Top School at the Free State Inter-High Athletics Championships in Sasolburg.

Talent. Commitment. Top coaches. These are the BVHS athletes’ proofs for their winning recipe. BVHS won the event convincingly out of 188 Free State schools. The athletic season produced many highlights for the school’s athletes. They dominated the Grainveld and the Eastern Free State events. The will to win and proudly step out of the fray was clearly visible in every event. Being the top athletics school in the Free State is a great honour for Bethlehem Voortrekker High School.

A rich medal harvest was the result of great times and distances. Voortrekker ended the day with 63 medals of which 30 were gold, 16 silver and 17 bronze.

The day was also marked by the two records that were improved. Carise van Rooyen improved the U/16 2000m girls Free State Hurdles record: 07:32:89. Andaline Warren improves the girl’s u/14 step Free State record: 29:13:93.

BVHS’ relay teams also brought home gold. Three gold, three silver and two bronze belonged to the Tractor Teams. They had the crowd properly on their feet!

According to Mr Andi Wolmarans, Head of Athletics and Coach, the athletes’ dedication, and love for the sport at the event paid off. He also thanked each coach who is individually involved with BVHS’ athletes. Without their expertise, the athletes would not have been able to walk away with these achievements.
