Hokkiekliniek. Erries se o.14-seunshokkiespan en tweede dogtershokkiespan ’n hokkiekliniek op EHS se astro bygewoon. Die kliniek is deur Sulette Damons, oud-Proteakaptein, en Shindre-lee Simmons, huidige Proteaspeler, aangebied.
Daar is tydens die hokkiekliniek op verskeie vaardigheids-ontwikkelingstegnieke gefokus. Die spanne het ook verskeie spanbou-aktiwiteite saam geniet. Aandag is ook is aandag gegee aan ontwykings-, verdedigings- en ‘arial’-vaardighede.
Die o.16-seunspan het vanaf 3 tot 6 April aan die Senior Nedstarkliniek in Pretoria deelgeneem. Aan die einde van die kliniek is ’n All-star span gekies wat bestaan uit spelers wat tydens die kliniek uitgeblink het. Die span het teen die Nedstar-afrigters gespeel. Nicholas Steyn en Thapelo Mokoene van Erries is vir hierdie span gekies. Ten spyte van verskeie uitdagings het die seuns die toer ongelooflik geniet, uitstekende opleiding ontvang en as hokkiespelers ontwikkel.
Die eerstespan seunshokkie het deelgeneem aan die Fairweather Hokkiefees te Hilton vanaf 3 tot 6 April. Hierdie hokkiefees het ten doel om soveel moontlik wedstryde vir die spanne te bied.
Die Erries is bevoorreg om geleenthede soos dié te kan hê om daardeur te ontwikkel. Dankie aan ons Hemelse Vader vir die veiligheid en beskerming tydens die onderskeie toere.
Hockey Clinic
Erries’ under-14 boys’ hockey team and second girls hockey team attended a hockey clinic on EHS’ astro. The clinic was hosted by Sulette Damons, ex-Protea captain, as well as Shindre-lee Simmons, current Protea player.
The focus was on various skills development techniques during the hockey clinic. The teams also enjoyed various team-building activities together. Attention was also paid to evasion, defense and ‘arial’ skills.
The under-16 boys’ team also competed at the Senior Nedstar Clinic in Pretoria from 3 to 6 April. At the end of the clinic, an All-star team was selected consisting of players who excelled during the clinic. The team played against the Nedstar coaches. Nicholas Steyn and Thapelo Mokoene from Erries were also selected for this team. Despite several challenges, the boys enjoyed the tour immensely, received excellent training and they also developed as hockey players.
The first-team boys hockey participated in the Fairweather Hockey Festival at Hilton from April 3 to 6. This hockey festival also aims to provide as many matches as possible for the teams.
