Point High School from Mossel Bay is extremely proud of ex-pupils, Llewellyn Whittaker and Johan Swanepoel who are part of the 2021 Olympic Games:
Llewellyn Whittaker, Olympic Surf coach Tokyo 2020 – Head coach of the German Surf Federation
Johan Swanepoel is part of the SA Gholf team as caddy for gholfer Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
Mossel Bay surf coach Llewellyn Whittaker, in his role as Head Coach for the German Surf Federation, decided to remotely coach his athletes during the first lock down. “The DWV has kindly allowed me to use their in-house technology to enable this approach.” Surfing featured for the first time at the Olympic ganes this year. The countries participating at the Olympics are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Germany and South Africa (Bianca Buitendach). Bianca is a South African professional surfer. She has represented South Africa at the Olympics where she won silver in the women’s shortboard competition.
Johan Swanepoel is a Professional Golf Caddie and also Owner of On Point Tours, a tourism company that creates personalized trips to the most beautiful part of South Africa, the Garden Route.
