schoolsthatrockElite Karate Proewe. Die Vrystaat Karate Federasie het die naweek van 4 Februarie, hulle jaarlikse Elite Karate proewe aangebied. Proewe het plaasgevind by die High Performance Center in Bloemfontein.
Die doel van die proewe was om karatekas te kies vir die Vrystaatspan. Hierdie span sal dan die Vrystaat verteenwoordig gedurende die jaar. Verskeie karatekas van Bethlehem Karate het aan die proewe deelgeneem. Die proewe het bestaan uit 2½ ure oefeninge vir Kata waarna keuring plaasgevind het vir Kata. Daarna is 2½ ure oefening vir kumite waarna daar ook keuring plaasgevind het vir kumite. Slegs karatekas wat aan die streng vereistes van die keurders voldoen het, is verkies tot die Vrystaatspan. Die karatekas het dan ook hulle Vrystaatklere in karate verkry.
Die Vrystaatspan wat verkies is, sal die Vrystaat verteenwoordig by die KSA (Karate Suid -frika) Nasionale kampioenskappe gedurende Maart in Port Elizabeth.
BHVS is trots op Katleho Moloi en Nathan Helm wat verkies is tot die Vrystaatspan.

Elite Karate Trials
The Free State Karate Federation hosted their annual Elite Karate trials on the weekend of 4 February. The trials took place at the High Performance Centre in Bloemfontein. The aim of the trials was to select karatekas for the Free State team. This team will then represent the Free State during the year. Several karatekas from Bethlehem Karate participated in the trials. The trials consisted of two and a half hours of exercises for Kata after which selection took place for Kata. Thereafter is two and a half hours of exercise for kumite after which selection also took place for kumite.
Only karatekas that met the strict requirements of the selectors were elected to the Free State team. The karatekas then also obtained their Free State clothing in karate. The Free State team elected will represent the Free State at the KSA (Karate South Frika) National Championships in Port Elizabeth during March.
BHVS is proud of Katleho Moloi and Nathan Helm who were elected to the Free State team.
