On Wednesday, 12th February, the new Luncedo athletics meeting took place at Aliwal North High School for all High Schools from Aliwal North, Burgersdorp, Lady Grey and Barkley East. Of the 71 ANHS athletes who competed at the event, 23 records were bettered and 49 athletes where chosen to compete, based on placing, at the Joe Gqabi meeting that will take place on Saturday, 22 February, at ANHS.
Some stand out performances on the day were as follows:
Monique Weitsz for Girls u/15 5000mW in 32:05:00s (841 points),
Jane van der Walt for girls u/14 SP with a distance of 9.62m (753 points),
Zenique Sharnick girls u/14 for 200m which she ran in 27,60s (763 poinys) and 100m in 13.20s (805 points),
Robert Orrock boys u/17 for 3000m which he ran in 3:51.31s (756 points),
Ruan Esbach boys u/17 which he ran in 51.60s (789 points),
Ethan Du Plessis for boys u/15 100m which he ran in 11,3s (808 points),
Keejachin Bosson for boys u/15 100m which he ran in 11,56s (760 points),
Philela Ngcangca for men u/19 110mH which he ran in 15,62s (761 points),
Chesne Pharo for girls u/17 100m which she ran in 13.10s (780 Points).
