On Friday morning, 13 March, Warrant Officer Bellingan of the Graaff-Reinet Police Service addressed the learners of Union Preparatory School during their weekly assembly.
His visit, which formed part of the school’s bullying prevention programme, saw Warrant Officer Bellingan give learners information on bullying, the effects thereof at school and how to avoid becoming a victim or perpetrator.
The learners were also taught how to recognize and report this behaviour whenever they see it.
The school’s management and learners alike appreciated Warrant Officer Bellingan’s effort of taking time out to come and speak about bullying.
Following assembly, the learners vowed to speak up against bullying when it took place at the school.
