The young swimmers of Union High School’s primary department made quite a splash during their annual inter-house gala on Friday, 8 November.
With the end of the year looming, spirits were high and the competitors gave their best and produced some excellent results. Tightly contested races throughout the day made for thrilling viewing for the spectators, and as the day culminated with the crowd-favourite, the exciting ladder relay, shouts and screams filled the air as the houses cheered their respective teams on.
Arnott House won this race and also did exceptionally well to take the inter-house trophy with a 488 to 302 point win.
Union congratulates all the swimmers who participated and extends its thanks to all the staff and parents involved in making it a successful and enjoyable day for all.
Congratulations to the day’s Victor Ludorum, Matthew Davenport. Matthew Paxton came in a close second overall among the boys, followed by Bradley Davenport in third place.
Among the girls, Tyra Binney was crowned the Victrix Ludorum, followed by Misha Newton in second place and Caytah-Leigh Koeberg and Chloe Erasmus in joint third.
