On Friday and Saturday, 1 and 2 November, the annual Jocelyn Marais Invitational Tennis Tournament was contested in Graaff-Reinet. This competition sees teams from as far afield as Stellenbosch and Bloemfontein participating in two days of very competitive tennis.
At the prize giving ceremony that concluded the event, Union’s Matthew Paxton, representing the Match-point Tennis Academy, was announced as the ‘Player of the Tournament’.
This is a very special award, and one that speaks volumes about Matthew’s character, as the recipient of this award is the one chosen by all the other participating players and coaches, as the player most deserving of this accolade.
Well done Matthew!
