Two SA champions from Grey College bring back five gold medals
The Grey College swimmers did exceptionally well and Aiden Nel (gr.9) and HJ Knepscheld (gr.10) brought five gold medals back from the SA Junior National Swimming championships that was held in Durban from 6-11 April.
Aidan won four gold medals in the u14 age group in the 200m fly, 400m individual medley (fly, back, breast and free), 200m breaststroke and 1500m freestyle and a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle.
He also came fourth in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and improved his personal best times in all ten events he competed in.
HJ won gold in the 50m breaststroke and silver in the 100m breaststroke.
Pieter Delport (u17-18 group) also did really well and won silver in the 200m backstroke and bronze in the 1500m.
Kaleb Lombard (u17-18) won three bronze medals in the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and 400m individual medley, respectively.
