This week they explored the theme “Pollution” which is an environmental issue and very important for learners to understand the importance of helping prevent pollution. Not only is pollution a major issue, it is so vital that children as tomorrow’s citizens should necessarily be aware of the problem and should be able to make crucial decisions/behaviors that affect the society for the better.
They discussed how it is our responsibility to not pollute at school or in our community. They are so privelaged to live near the sea, so their focal point for art was water pollution. We all need water to survive.
Children need to see the bigger picture of the world they live in and how the interdependence of all the elements in nature makes up their living place. This will indeed help children know how every single action of theirs affect the environment and what consequences it brings in. This way, they will also learn about the importance of saving the natural resources and grow up with a sense of creating a better environment.
We all form a small part in our environment and all need to do our part to keep our place safe. The sooner we begin the better, especially with our young children as they are our future!
