The highlight of the St Charles College calendar is our annual Speech Night. The Indoor Centre was completely transformed into a beautiful venue, fit for an evening celebrating all that the St Charles College community, and in particular the boys, have achieved over the past year. The Matric class of 2017 took pride of place in front of the stage, savouring their final formal function in their schooling careers. The guest speaker was Mr Mark Barber, who is the Senior Manager of the Cambridge International Examinations of Southern Africa. One of the highlights of the evening was the speech given by 2017 Head Boy, Tehan Martinson.
Seeing the College through the eyes of the Head Boy is an insightful experience and it is wonderful to hear of the memories he will cherish of his years at St Charles College. The announcement of the 2018 prefect body was one of the most anticipated items on the programme. Congratulations to all those who were selected to be Prefects and Council Leaders.
The top five selected to represent the College as Head Boy and Deputies are Matthew Mortimer (Head Boy), Scott Anderson, Njabulo Tenza, Luke Adam and Dominic Casey . The evening concluded with a rousing rendition of the College’s school song that could be heard well beyond the walls of the Indoor Centre.
