schoolsthatrockSt Andrew’s School for Girls in Bedfordview, Johannesburg shone a light on modern day slavery on the 14th of March 2018 by joining CNN’s #MyFreedomDay campaign. Over 200 girls staged a silent protest against the inhumane practice of slavery.
The CNN Freedom Project works to expose exploitation of people as sex slaves, unpaid laborers, forced marriages and child labor. “The project aims to give a voice to the voiceless and we wanted to add our voices to the call to abolish slavery,” says Nita Naidoo, a grade 11 pupil at St Andrew’s School for Girls.
