schoolsthatrockSpringbok kleure oorhandig. Tydens Grey Kollege se saalperiode op Vrydag, 4 Augustus, het dr. Wynand Pieter Johan van den Berg sy Springbok-kleure vir Skerm (1960 verwerf) aan sy Alma Mater oorhandig. Hy het in 1955 aan Grey-kollege gematrikuleer.
Hierdie mooi gebaar is in lyn met ‘n bekende tradisie by Grey Kollege. Dit bepaal dat, indien ‘n huidige of voormalige leerder senior nasionale kleure vir sport (Protea-kleure) ontvang, hy dit aan die skool skenk om te bewaar. Nuwe Grey Kollege geslagte word daardeur geïnspireer om hulle drome na te jaag en toegewyd te werk.
Dit is ook ‘n manier om Grey Kollege te bedank vir wat die skool vir die betrokke individu beteken het.
Springbok Colours handed over. On Friday, August 4, dr. Wynand Pieter Johan van den Berg handed over his Springbok colours for Screen (obtained in 1960) to his Alma Mater. He matriculated from Grey College in 1955.Â
This nice gesture is also in line with a well-known tradition at Grey College. It subsequently stipulates that, if a current or former learner receives senior national colours for sport (Protea Colours), he donates them to the school for preservation. New Grey College generations are also inspired to pursue their dreams and work dedicatedly.
It’s also a way of thanking Grey College for what the school meant to the individual in question.
