Sewes Rugby.
Rugby sevens
Marlow Agricultural High School is proud of three of its rugby sevens players! Dempers Meyer, Conrad Botha and Leonard Booysen were selected for the Eastern Province U17 Sevens rugby team.
EP also took part in SASRA’s national tournament, in Krugersdorp. The tournament spanned two days. The group matches were played on Friday, 30 September. EP wins the Pumas and Griquas. However, they lost to the Blue Bulls and finished second in their group. So EP had to play Saturday, Oct. 1, against the Sharks (winner of group A) in the cup division playoffs. EP beat the Sharks and advanced to the semi-finals. EP also showed their mettle in this showdown, beating SWD 17-0.
In the final EP also had just too much shooting stuff and they beat a strong Boland team 25-14. So EP is named the national champion! Marlow is very proud of his three Wolramme who delivered outstanding play for EP. Dempers Meyer (Thorn) is named man of the match in the semi-finals and in the final Conrad Botha (Rafa) is named player of the match.
Truly a great achievement that the boys can be very proud of!
