Science and Technology. Glasson Osborne is Paul Roos matriculant from 2021. He has been selected for the National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) 2022 Brilliants Programme.
This honour is for approximately 18 learners in South Africa. Glasson is one of only two learners from the Western Cape. The criteria for selection entail achieving the highest average (above 90%) for Mathematics and Physical Sciences in the NSC exam. They have to be a registered first-year student studying science-related (STEM) courses (mainly natural sciences, mathematics, engineering and medicine).
Glasson and his fellow nominees will be honoured at the annual NSTF-South32 Awards Gala Event. They are also invited on an educational tour. The students will also be introduced to professionals from a variety of fields. The professionals will act as role models. The students will also be able to learn from their life stories and advice. Furthermore, these students may qualify for bursaries for their studies from the Department of Science and Innovation.
Glasson currently studies electrical and electronic engineering with a focus on data engineering at Stellenbosch University.
