Schools That Rock chat with Unako Bekezulu

Schools That Rock asked a few questions to Unako Bekezulu, Hostel Headgirl of Eunice High School in Bloemfontein.

Question: What do you look forward to the most when the 2021 school year starts? I look forward to reaching the academic goals I have set for myself. As a hostel girl, one of the things I look forward to is officially counting down the number of road trips that I have left to and from Bloemfontein. I look forward to the new adventures and challenges that my position will bring me. I am especially looking forward to seeing how I will respond to them as well as observing my personal growth in these situations.

Question: Are there any changes or adjustments you would like to see happen at Eunice? It is quite obvious that we are facing a global pandemic and are living in unprecedented times therefore, during these times of uncertainty, I would like to see the girls maintain school spirit, energy and positivity because this kind of energy is vital and will carry the girls through their academic challenges as well as uplift their psychological well-being.

Question: If you had to make a statement to convince someone that your school is the right choice, what would it that statement be? Behind the academic excellence there are so many life lessons an individual learns which can definitely be taken out into the world.

Question: Which sport activity offered at your school is your favourite? My favourite sport offered at the school is definitely Netball, without a doubt.

Question: What is your favourite meal? As a food lover I do not necessarily have a favourite meal. However, I do enjoy and prefer meals that contain chicken rather than beef.

Question: Do you have a message for your fellow pupils for 2021? My message is that people should always remember that dogs don’t bark at stationary or parked cars. People will always criticise you when they see you succeeding but that doesn’t mean that you should let the criticism get to you. Barking
dogs simply means that you are doing something great, therefore, do not decrease your speed and most of all do not stop your car for them.
