Schools and Provincial Finals. Maritzburg College Cyclists Shine at Schools and Provincial Finals.
Maritzburg College’s cycling team delivered a commendable performance over the weekend, showcasing grit and determination at both the Schools Final on Saturday and the Provincial Final on Sunday. Competing against top riders from across the region, Maritzburg’s cyclists held their own and made the College proud.
Saturday – Schools Final Highlights
- R Champkins (Sub Junior): Finished 47th out of 72 riders, gaining valuable experience in a competitive field.
- B Fourie (Junior 17yrs): Placed 36th out of 68, demonstrating consistent effort and resilience.
- K Searle (Junior 17yrs): Achieved an impressive 9th place finish, breaking into the top 10 with a strong ride.
Sunday – Provincial Final Highlights
- R Champkins (Sub Junior): Improved to 46th out of 70, showing determination and growth.
- B Fourie (Junior 17yrs): Climbed to 30th out of 63, reflecting steady progress and commitment.
- K Searle (Junior 17yrs): Secured 8th place, once again proving his competitive edge among the province’s best.
