Kearsney College concluded their season on a high note with a convincing 3–0 victory over St Alban’s College in Pretoria this past weekend.
The hosts, who had also enjoyed a solid run of results, were caught off guard by a rapid and ruthless start from the visitors. Kearsney stamped their authority early in the first chukka. They raced to a 2–0 lead courtesy of two expertly executed drag flicks by Keegan de Jager from penalty corners.
Despite several attacking efforts by St Alban’s, the Kearsney defence held firm. They calmly absorbed pressure without allowing any real threats to materialise.
While Kearsney continued to carve out scoring opportunities throughout the match, it wasn’t until the final minute that they found the net again. De Jager completed his hat-trick with another precision drag flick.
The win not only underscored Kearsney’s clinical edge and composure under pressure but also capped off a successful end to their season. It followed a narrow 3–2 triumph over St Stithians the previous weekend, solidifying back-to-back wins against strong opponents.
