SACS Junior Cycling event. SACS Junior hosted a vibrant cycling event for neighbouring junior schools, drawing an impressive turnout of over 250 enthusiastic riders. Cyclists of all ages took to the SACS track, with some as young as seven bravely pedalling through the course.
Senior High School riders joined the festivities, riding alongside the lead juniors. They ensured the tail end of the group was well-supported. Their presence also helped maintain a strong focus on both safety and enjoyment throughout the day. Adding a touch of whimsy, a few spirited Rosedale gentlemen dressed up as SACSie the Lion. This was much to the delight of the younger participants.
Meanwhile, the SACS Downhill team was in action this past weekend at Helderberg, competing in the third round of the Western Cape Enduro Series. The course was demanding, featuring high speeds and rugged, blown-out trails—but the riders rose to the challenge.
Jack Cumming (Grade 9) and Matthew Bellairs (Grade 10) tackled the full race in the fiercely competitive Youth Men category, finishing 6th and 9th respectively! Fenn Patton (Grade 10) also delivered a standout performance in the Lite event, securing an impressive 2nd place.
Additional Lite Results:
- Nate Ringdal (Grade 10): 16th
- Leo Wolfaardt (Grade 9 – his first enduro): 4th
- Thomas Day (Grade 10): 7th
- Matt von Maltitz: 11th
