SA National MTB Schools. 🚴 Grey High School Cyclists Shine at National MTB Schools League.
This past weekend, nine of Grey’s elite mountain bikers, under the guidance of Mrs du Plessis, embarked on a thrilling journey to Piet Retief to compete in the prestigious SA National MTB Schools League. The event drew top-tier talent from across South Africa, with each race featuring a fiercely competitive field of 68 to 78 riders.
Despite the intensity, Grey’s riders rose to the occasion with grit and determination. In Saturday’s Top Schools MTB event, the team delivered a standout performance, securing 10th place out of 93 boys’ teams — a remarkable achievement that speaks volumes about their skill, preparation, and team spirit.
Sunday saw the boys donning Eastern Province colours in the provincial event, where they joined forces with fellow cyclists from Port Elizabeth schools. Together, the EP team clinched 9th place overall, further cementing Grey’s reputation as a powerhouse in youth cycling.
