National Colours Life Saving. Congratulations to Troy McWilliam — the school is absolutely bursting with pride as we celebrate his extraordinary achievements in the water.
Troy has officially been awarded his National Colours Life Saving. He has also been selected to represent South Africa at a prestigious international competition in New Zealand later this year.
Additionally, Troy is a phenomenal Open-Water Swimmer. He has also represented South Africa in Eswatini, and has now been selected for the national team heading to Kenya. Nationally, he holds the top U17 ranking in the grueling 5000m and 7500m freestyle events.
To earn National Colours in two distinct endurance swimming disciplines—Life Saving and Open Water Swimming—while simultaneously training for pool racing, maintaining high academic standards, and navigating everyday school life, is a testament to Troy’s exceptional dedication, discipline, and mental resilience.
This level of excellence doesn’t come easily. It demands early mornings, late nights, countless kilometres in the pool, and an unwavering commitment to balancing sport and academics.
Rondebosch sends its warmest wishes to Troy as he prepares for the upcoming competition while also focusing on his matric finals. We are incredibly proud of you!
