History was made on Saturday 17 February 2018 when Paarl Boys’ High played against Somerset College. Two of Paarl Boys’ High School’s batsmen scored double centuries at Brug Street that day:
Lieben Engelbrecht PBHS U14A scored 205 runs out of the team total of 378/4. PBHS U14A went on to win the match by 280 runs.
Johan Cronjé PBHS U19B scored 200 runs out of the team total of 451/8. PBHS U19B went on to win the match by 428 runs when they bowled Somerset College U19B out for just 23 runs.
The record for the highest batting partnership for Paarl Boys’ High was set by Leon le Roux and Manrich Kotzé against Oundle School from Northamptonshire in 2009 scoring 320 runs (Leon 168* and Manrich 149*) as opening batsmen.
