New Head Primary School. Curro Durbanville is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Carl Zimmermann as the new Head of Primary School.
With a career spanning over 22 years in education, Mr Zimmermann brings a wealth of experience in academic excellence, innovative teaching methodologies, and dynamic school leadership. Having been a valued member of the Curro Durbanville community since 2002, he has served in numerous key roles, including Deputy Head of the Primary School since 2019 and Acting Head of the Primary School in both 2022 and 2024.
Mr Zimmermann holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Stellenbosch University. His qualifications are further enriched by additional certifications and extensive professional development in leadership and education.
Renowned for his ability to make learning meaningful and engaging, Mr Zimmermann brings curriculum content to life, fostering an environment where students are inspired to excel. As a leader, he has cultivated supportive and motivated teams, ensuring staff feel both valued and empowered. His strategic approach and innovative vision have been pivotal to the school’s growth.
In his leadership capacities, Mr Zimmermann has successfully overseen academics, discipline, and operational management, while playing a key role in emotional and pastoral care within the school. Beyond the classroom, he has demonstrated his commitment to holistic education through his involvement in coaching sports and driving cultural initiatives.
