schoolsthatrockMaragon Ruimsig, Gauteng, celebrated their Gr 7 Monitor Induction Assembly on 12 February 2018. Mrs Richardson opened with a fitting message of Servant Leadership, from John 13. Jesus washed his disciples’ feet to show his willingness to lead through serving. Our Grade 7s demonstrated their pledge to serve their school with kindness and love by the symbolic act of washing some learners’ feet.
” Whoever wants to be a leader among you must first be a servant”.
Our monitors have been announced in the Pillars where they chose to serve for the year, namely: The Arts (Culture); Sport; Operations and Curriculum.
In performing their weekly duties, they all form part of the Service Pillar. As a symbol of their unity, they have written their name on a rock and placed it together to illustrate their commitment to work together as a team.
They have pledged to serve Maragon and the community with pride – “Servant Leadership is after all not about ‘I or We’, but about ‘Them’ – our Maragon Community.”
