King Cetshwayo Chess Tournament – Felixton College

King Cetshwayo Chess Tournament. Felixton College Junior School and High School Chess team recently took part in the highly competitive King Cetshwayo Chess Tournament.

Three of the Junior School boys, Christopher Stewart, Scott Monga and Shrien Ramsamy dominated the u.14 age division. They secured first, second, and third place.

Two of the High School girls, Isabelle Wilson and Ziyanda Mnguni, impressed with their determination and skill. They finished second and third in their division. Their consistent efforts and good results have earned them valuable points towards qualifying for Provincial level.

Chess isn’t just about winning; it teaches patience, sharpens critical thinking and builds resilience. These are skills that serve the pupils well, both on and off the chessboard.
