Kearsney Soccer Tournament.36 School Soccer Teams Gear Up for Kearsney’s Premier Youth Tournament.

Botha’s Hill, KwaZulu-Natal — July 17–19, 2025

The scenic grounds of Kearsney College will come alive this Thursday as the third annual Kearsney Soccer Tournament kicks off, welcoming 36 school teams and nearly 600 young soccer players from across South Africa and Botswana. Over three action-packed days, the event will showcase rising soccer talent, fierce competition, and the spirit of youth sportsmanship.

A Diverse Line-Up of Talent

This year’s tournament features:

  • 16 boys’ high school teams
  • 8 girls’ high school teams
  • 12 primary school teams

Returning champions include:

  • Pinetown Boys’ High (Senior Boys)
  • St Mary’s DSG (Senior Girls)
  • Merchiston Prep (Junior Boys)

Schools Represented

KwaZulu-Natal High Schools: Durban High School, Glenwood High, Clifton College, Ashton Ballito, Grace College, Maqhutshana Secondary, Siyajabula High, Queensburgh High, and hosts Kearsney College.

National & International Teams:

  • Gauteng: Curro Hazeldean, Sutherland High, Trinity House Randpark
  • Western Cape: Curro Somerset West
  • Eastern Cape: Urban Academy (Gqeberha)
  • Botswana: Broadhurst Primary (Gaberone)

Girls’ High School Teams: St Mary’s DSG, Durban Girls’ High, Danville Park Girls, Sastri College, Crawford La Lucia, Ashton Ballito, Curro Hazeldean, Trinity House Randpark

Primary Schools: Highbury Prep, Hillcrest Primary, Winston Park, Atholl Heights, Westville Senior Primary, John Wesley, Ashton Ballito, Reddam Ballito, Clifton Prep, Pelham Senior Primary, and Merchiston Prep.

More Than a Game

The Kearsney Soccer Tournament is fast becoming a cornerstone of youth soccer in South Africa. By including both boys’ and girls’ divisions and encouraging participation from primary and high school levels, the event promotes inclusivity, development, and community engagement.
