Johan J Ferreira Sentrum. Op 26 September het Paul Roos Gimnasium, Stellenbosch, die nuut-opgegradeerde Johan J Ferreira Hoë Prestasie Sentrum offisieel geopen.
Beleggers, projekbestuurders, argitekte, potensiële vennote en gemeenskapsrolspelers is uitgenooi om die nuwe gimnasium onder oë te neem. Ten tyde van die geleentheid is gaste ingelig oor Paul Roos Gimnasium se Meesterplan. Dit sluit die Johan J Ferreira Hoë Prestasie Sentrum ook in. Daar is ook uitgebrei oor die unieke Performance Development Pathway Programme – wat juis binne dié Sentrum in werking gestel word.
Sentrumbestuurder, sportswetenskaplike en kondisioneringsafrigter, Elric Pretorius, het verduidelik hoe hierdie holistiese program al 1300 leerders by Paul Roos Gimnasium baat. Dit dra ook by tot die leerders se algehele fiksheid en fisiese ontwikkeling. Mnr Pretorius het ook verduidelik hoe verder gespesialisseerde afrigting binne die Hoë Prestasie Sentrum jong sportmanne en atlete sal bemagtig om optimal te ontwikkel in hul onderskeie sportvelde. Die oorspronklike Johan Ferreira Gimnasium was befonds deur die ontslape Johan J Ferreira. Die geleentheid is ook gebruik om eer te betoon aan Mnr Ferreira wat die fondasie vir hierdie projek soveel jare gelede reeds gelê het.
Mev Ferreira, haar seuns en hul eggenote het die geleentheid as eregaste bygewoon.
Johan J Ferreira Centre
On 26 September, Paul Roos Gymnasium, Stellenbosch, officially opened the newly upgraded Johan J Ferreira High Performance Centre.
Investors, project managers, architects, potential partners, and community role-players were also invited to take stock of the new gymnasium. At the time of the event, guests were also briefed on Paul Roos Gymnasium’s Master Plan. This includes the Johan J Ferreira High Performance Centre as well. The unique Performance Development Pathway Programme – which is being implemented within this Centre – has also been expanded.
Centre manager, sports scientist and conditioning coach Elric Pretorius also explained how this holistic programme benefits all 1300 learners at Paul Roos Gymnasium. It also contributes to the learners’ overall fitness and physical development. Mr Pretorius also explained how further specialised coaching within the Johan J Ferreira High Performance Centre will empower young sportsmen and athletes to develop optimally in their respective sports fields. The original Johan Ferreira Gymnasium was also funded by the late Johan J Ferreira. The event was also used to honour Mr Ferreira who laid the foundation for this project so many years ago.
Mrs Ferreira, her sons, and their spouses attended the event as guests of honour.
