schoolsthatrockInter Landbouskole snoeikompetisie. Augsburg Landbou Gimnasium van Clanwilliam in die Wes-Kaap se top drie kandidate het onlangs die skool verteenwoordig by ‘n Inter-landbouskole snoeikompetisie.
Andruan Klaase, Eduard van Zyl en Marius Smit het Augsburg by hierdie spoggeleentheid verteenwoordig. Augsburg moes teen Boland Landbouskool deelneem in die skoliere-afdeling. Daar was ook ‘n “intervarsity”afdeling. Deelnemers was beoordeel volgens die kwaliteit en spoed waarmee hulle die wingerd snoei. Die fokus was veral op vernuwing en spasiëring van draers. Dit is sodat die wingerd in die toekoms groter oeste kan dra.
Eduard van Zyl het ‘n derde plek behaal en Marius Smith het weggestap met ‘n eerste plek!
Inter Agricultural Schools Pruning Competition. Augsburg Landbougimnasium from Clanwilliam in the Western Cape’s top three candidates of the Felco Pruning Course, recently represented the school at an Inter-agricultural schools pruning competition.
Andruan Klaase, Eduard van Zyl and Marius Smit represented Augsburg at this prestigious event. Augsburg had to compete against Hoër Landbouskool Boland in the scholars section. There was also an “intervarsity” section. Participants were judged on the quality and speed with which they pruned the vineyard. The main focus was on revitalization and spacing of bearers so that the vineyard could bear larger crops in the future.
Eduard van Zyl took third place and Marius Smith walked away with a first place!
