Indoor Hockey Semi-Final. 🏑 Kearsney College Battles DHS and Glenwood in Indoor Hockey Showdown.
Kearsney College faced a formidable challenge in the semi-final against Durban High School (DHS). Kearsney ultimately fell 2–4 in a tightly contested encounter. Veterans Joel Steyn and Luke Patterson gave it their all in their final indoor appearance, showcasing unwavering grit and leadership throughout.
Kearsney stayed within striking distance for much of the match, trailing by just one goal until the closing minutes. In a bold tactical move, they pulled their goalkeeper to gain an attacking advantage. However, a penalty corner conceded under pressure allowed DHS to capitalize and secure their spot in the final.
Third-Place Playoff: Kearsney dominates Glenwood (5–2)
Determined to avenge last season’s 0–2 defeat, Kearsney returned to the court with renewed focus against Glenwood High School in the third-place playoff. Despite conceding an early goal, the team quickly adjusted their outlet structure and pressing strategy.
Dylan Forbes delivered a standout performance, netting four goals to propel Kearsney into a commanding lead. Glenwood managed a late response, but it was Matt Terblanche who sealed the deal—scoring in his final school hockey match to secure a 5–2 victory and a well-deserved third-place finish.
