Before the age of six, Simoné started playing golf when her family lived in Klerksdorp. She was the Guppy of the Year for two years in a row at the golf club there. The family then moved to KwaZulu-Natal, where she was spotted by the president of ladies’ golf and invited to be part of the KZN LGA Ladies’ Golf Association. Simoné was nine years old then and living in Margate.
In 2015 she competed in the Junior Championships in the United States. In order to qualify, she took part in a tournament at Bronkhorstspruit, where, at the age of 10, she won in her category.
Well done, Simoné!
