Hockey squad received caps. The 2025 first team hockey squad received caps at a dinner on Friday night.

The guest speaker, Callum Birkenfield, was the captain of the 2017 team. He told the players that the most important thing that will happen during the year will be the bonds that they build with their teammates – bonds that will extend far beyond 2025.

Mr Jackson explained that Callum was in the 2015 1st team that won the Aitken Cup and set in motion the remarkable series of eight victories in nine finals after that. He remined them that this was the legacy that they are following and explained that it is part of what “this means more” is about. “You are standing on the shoulders of giants, don’t forget that,” he said.

The leadership group for 2025 was announced. Ethan Kapanda is the captain, Ezray Stadt and Cole Stanbury are the vice-captains.

It’s going to be a long year, culminating in an overseas tour at the end of it. We are looking forward to it and a grateful for the hard work and sacrifice that everyone at the dinner on Friday will be putting in.
