Dance World Cup. Sasolburg High School Leaps onto the World Stage.
Get ready to cheer, because Megan Olivier, a talented learner from Sasolburg High School, is jeté-ing her way to international stardom! She’ll be representing South Africa at the Dance World Cup in the picturesque city of Burgos, Spain from 3 to 12 July during the upcoming school holidays.
The Dance World Cup is no small step—it’s one of the globe’s most prestigious dance competitions. It draws over 25,000 competitors from more than 66 countries. This year’s finals will see 8,000 dancers from 64 nations take the stage in a dazzling display of youthful talent and cultural expression.
Open to dancers aged 5 to 25, this vibrant event not only highlights technical excellence and creativity but also celebrates the global unity of dance. And there’s even more rhythm to this story—all qualifying South African dancers will also have the chance to perform live in Portugal as proud ambassadors of Mzansi’s dance scene.
So, lace up your dancing shoes and join us in wishing Megan a stage full of sparkle, strength, and standing ovations!
