Curro Podium Athletics Meeting. It’s back! The most prestigious High School athletics event in Southern Africa. The Curro Podium Athletics Meeting is set to deliver another electrifying dose of high-energy competition. The Curro Podium Athletics North event will be hosted by Curro Hazeldean on behalf of Curro Holdings. It takes place on Wednesday, 27 September 2023, at Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria.
Following the tremendous success of the inaugural event earlier this year, Curro is taking their commitment to sporting excellence to new heights. It will expand the series to encompass two regional showcases. In addition to the North event, Podium Athletics meeting will take place on Saturday, 28 October. The host will be Dal Josaphat in the South, before culminating a grand national finale early next year.
Cultivate a legacy of champions

The Curro Podium Athletics series is approved by Athletics SA (ASA). It is specifically designed to ignite passion and inspire generations of sporting champions. The upcoming North event undoubtedly promises to be a fast-paced showdown. It will bring together the most promising young athletes from schools across South Africa’s North. This includes the Central Northwest, the Vaal Triangle, Free State. Furthermore Central Gauteng, KZN, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and the North West.
Top local and Southern African sporting schools
The event will see top local and Southern African sporting schools. They will be vying for individual and team titles and trophies across various categories. It also include best boys’ and girls’ athletics team as well as the best combined athletics team. Individual trophies will also be presented to the bestmale and female junior and senior track athletes and the best male and female junior and senior field athletes.
From sprints and hurdles to discus, throws and high jumps, these athletes will leave no stone unturned to secure victory in a total of 24 events.
The winners from these regional events will also qualify to compete in the Curro Podium National finals scheduled for February 2024.
Tickets for the Curro Podium Athletics North event are priced at R50 and will be available for purchase at the stadium gates on the day of the event. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live via SuperSport Schools and on the Curro Sports YouTube channel, ensuring that the excitement and inspiration reaches a broader audience.
