Curro Hockey Cup 2022. Curro Durbanville High School, together with Curro Durbanville Primary School hosted the Curro Hockey Cup 2022 Hockey Tournament. It was held between Thursday, 31 March, and Saturday, 2 April.
Forty teams, consisting of 16 players each, competed in fierce 45-minute matches for the chance to lift one of four trophies. Learners from 13 different Curro schools from across the country took part in the tournament. Curro Hazeldean triumphed in the under 13 boys category and Curro Durbanville Primary for the under 13 girls. Learners from the Curro Durbanville High school took first prize in both the girls’ and boys’ tournaments in the under 19 categories.
Other notable mentions include Curro Aurora took second place in boys under 13s. Curro Serengeti took third place in girls under 13s, and St Dominics Newcastle second place in boys under 19s. Waterstone College took third place in boys under 19s.

The Curro Cup aims to identify the independent school group’s best sports stars and teams across 12 sporting codes. This year’s competition kicked off in February 2022. Learners already competed for trophies in athletics, mountain biking, netball, rugby, and hockey. Tournaments for eSports, swimming, and golf, are scheduled in the upcoming weeks.
