Curro Delft Neighbourhood Watch. Since Curro Delft opened its doors in 2020, the school has received great support from the local Neighbourhood Watch in the Delft area. As a token of appreciation, the school invited the community’s various neighbourhood watch teams to the school last week. Curro gave them a Covid-friendly thank you ceremony. It involved a free coffee-on-the-go and muffin and a branded buff for each team member.
The school’s Executive Head, Phil Snyman thanked Susan Jantjies, Chairperson of Echo neighbourhood watch who started the initiative in the Delft community, for faithfully organising the team to patrol the streets, even during challenging times such as the recent looting and taxi violence in and around the area. “We are extremely grateful to you and your teams’ dedication to guard our school and for keeping watch over us. It is an honour to educate the youth of this community but an immense privilege to observe how the community has opened their arms to us. They protect the school like it’s their own,” said Snyman.
