Curro Cricket. Curro Durbanville cricket coach, Jeandre Jumat, has been nominated for the prestigious Level 3 coaching course by the South African Cricket Association (SACA).
Experienced, and suitably qualified Level 3 coaches (revised 2005 course) are nominated annually by their respective Affiliates. They need to be at least 25 years of age to attend this particular course. Cricket South Africa (Coaching Department) reserves the right to invite or select individuals at its discretion. This is to enable such candidates to become competent senior club, provincial youth and/or Academy coaches.
“I am honoured and grateful for the opportunity to obtain the Level 3 coaching qualification. In 2008 I obtained a Cricket South Africa (CSA) Level 2 coaching qualification. My ultimate goal is to coach senior provincial cricket teams as well as national cricket teams,” Jumat said.
Jumat has a BTech Degree in Sports Science (specialising in officiating and coaching). He is currently busy with his PGCE in Education. He is also an intern teacher and sports coach at Curro Durbanville High School.
Being a former professional cricket player for the Titans, V.O.C. Rotterdam (Netherlands), Dukes of Norfolk XI (Sussex League Cricket Team), Hastings and St. Leonards Cricket Club (England) – enables Jumat to excel as a cricket coach.
Besides coaching Curro Durbanville’s cricketers he has in the past also coached the Kraaifontein Cricket Club, CPL Atlantic Pirates Juniors, Irene Villagers Club Cricket, Spes Bona Cricket Club Hastings and St. Leonards Cricket Club as an overseas professional coach.
