Curro means I run in Latin
“We are incredibly proud of Curro’s robust athletic programme. After all, the very name Curro means I run in Latin. The programme continues to develop and advance the minds and character of Curro’s most adept learners. In fact, the aim is to help create future Olympians. So we are thrilled to be hosting the first Curro Podium Athletics meeting where aspiring young sports talent have the chance to compete against each other on a national level and showcase their skills and abilities in front of Olymican role models,” comments Pierre le Roux, Executive Head at Curro Hazeldean.
Teams will compete in several middle-distance heats, sprints, hurdles, discus throws, and high jumps events. Team trophies will be awarded to the best boys’ and girls athletics team as well as the best combined athletics team. Individual trophies will be presented to the best male and female track athletes as well as the best field athlete. The Junior Victor and Victrix Ludorum and the Senior Victor and Victrix Ludorum will also be awarded.
