schoolsthatrockAthletics – Aliwal North High school had its annual in house Athletics meeting on Tuesday the 8th of February at Sauer Park. The theme for the day was Zombies vs Fairies. They had to dress up like that. They did not disappoint. Athletes were very eager to get back on the athletics track after a long holiday and delivered some stunning performances.
Athlethes that set up new records for the athletics day were Robert Orrock Men u/19 5000m in 16:43,72s (785 points). Catherine van Aardt girls u/15 3000m in 12:06,55s (765 points). Chris Weitsz boys u/14 5000mW in 28:43,41s (835 points). Monique Weitsz girls u/17 5000mW in 30:55,00s (860 points). Anche Viljoen girls u/14 300mH in 57,05s (660 points). Denzil Jacobs boys u/14 100mH in 15,31s (590 points). Ziane Cloete girls u/15 90mH in 15,31s (765 points). Petra Kok girls u/15 100m in 13,13s (770 points) and 200m in 27,77s (720 points). Lutho Silele boys u/15 100m in 11,54s (765 points). Zenique Sharnick girls u/16 100m in 13,19s (750 points) and Marlinka Zurich girls u/16 JT with a stunning distance of 41,05m (840 points).
