ANHS sponsored 3 learners and 3 educators to attend a First Aid (Level One) course at Holy Cross from 25 to 27 February. Two learners volunteered to pay for themselves.
Staff members were: Mr JF Bosch, Miss A Emmerich and Mr O Heyns.
The learners were: A Makhomfana, T Mcunculu, A Coetzer, B Taule and S Mhlontlo.
Akhona Makhomfana reports:
“On the first day we received a book which contained everything we were about to learn. We learnt about CPR, how and when to apply it. We also learnt how to care for people with severe burns and bleeding and a whole lot more. Knowing how to apply First Aid is an important asset on anyone’s CV. My fellow first aiders and I gained a lot of knowledge and experience, and we would like more people to attend such a course. I received a gold certificate for my hard work, and I cannot wait to complete my First Aid, Levels Two and three”.
Anri Coetzer se verslag:
“Die noodhulp-kursus was vir my baie lekker. Ons het baie interessante dinge geleer. Ek wil voorstel dat meer leerlinge die kursus doen sodat hulle ander in nood kan bystaan. Ek het wonderlike herinneringe van al ons wedervaringe.
