School Tennis. Union High School Tennis Report 🎾
Eight of Union High School’s senior tennis players travelled to Burgersdorp to compete in the prestigious Van Niekerk & Koen School Tennis Tournament, facing strong opposition from Burgersdorp High School, Cradock High School, De Aar High School, and Hoërskool Jim Fouché.
Tournament Highlights
- The day began with doubles matches, followed by mixed doubles, where Union delivered excellent performances.
- Union secured victories over Burgersdorp and Jim Fouché, and earned a draw against Cradock.
- Against defending champions De Aar, Union showed remarkable determination, winning 6–2 in the doubles and mixed doubles rounds.

Final Round
The tournament concluded with singles matches, which ultimately decided the overall standings. Despite Union’s strong showing earlier in the day, maintaining the same level of competitiveness in the singles proved challenging.
Final Result
Union High School finished the tournament in an admirable third place overall, a result that reflects both the team’s skill and fighting spirit.
