Girls’ Cricket. Grantleigh Girls’ Cricket Team Extends Unbeaten Run with Dominant Victory.
Grantleigh’s Girls’ Cricket Team continued their remarkable unbeaten season with a commanding eight-wicket win over Hoërskool Richardsbaai, sealing the result with 28 balls to spare.
Bowling first, the team struck immediately as Izzy Currie claimed a wicket with the very first delivery. From there, disciplined bowling and sharp fielding in sweltering conditions restricted the opposition to 79 for 2 after 20 overs.
Opening the chase, Currie and Skye du Pisanie built a composed 70-run partnership that set the tone for a comfortable pursuit. Currie once again proved decisive, finishing unbeaten on 47 from 44 balls and striking the winning runs for the second consecutive week.
Although a couple of late wickets fell, the outcome was never in doubt, underscoring the team’s growing confidence and consistency.
Grantleigh Schools congratulates the players and coaching staff on another outstanding performance. With each victory, the girls’ unbeaten season continues to gather momentum and inspire pride across the school community.
