7’s Rugby Rising Strong. 🏉 Grantleigh Schools Celebrate Stellar Rugby Season.
Grantleigh Schools, a proud member of the Curro Select group, is thrilled to celebrate the outstanding performances of its U15 and U18 7s rugby teams. They have demonstrated remarkable consistency, grit, and growth across three major tournaments.
At the prestigious HSRB Tournament, both teams secured commendable 4th-place finishes, each earning three wins and two losses. Building on that momentum, they surged to second place at the Empangeni Tournament, notching four victories apiece. Their most impressive showing came at the Ashton Tournament. Both squads powered through five wins each to reach the finals. Although narrowly defeated 28–19 by Clifton, their tenacity and team spirit were nothing short of inspiring.
📊 A Unique Feat: Across all three tournaments, both teams recorded identical win-loss tallies—a testament to the strength of Grantleigh Rugby’s coaching programme and the unified culture driving its success.
🎖️ Individual Brilliance: Special recognition goes to Grade 12 student, Dominique Hassard, who was named Man of the Tournament. Despite sustaining an injury in the final, his leadership and standout performances left an indelible mark on the campaign.
With a deep pool of talent and a solid foundation in place, the future of rugby at Grantleigh Schools looks exceptionally promising.
