Hockey Fives. 🏑 Kearsney College Hosts Electrifying Hockey Fives Weekend.
Kearsney College came alive with fast-paced action and fierce competition as 26 teams descended on the campus for a thrilling weekend of Hockey Fives. The modified format—played on a half-sized pitch with five players per side and boundary walls—delivered high-intensity matches packed with speed, skill, and strategy.
Durban High School (DHS) emerged victorious in the boys’ high school division after a nail-biting final against Michaelhouse, while St Mary’s DSG from Kloof dominated the girls’ division, securing the title with a commanding 4–1 win over Maris Stella.
Primary schools joined the festivities in a relaxed, festival-style format, adding to the vibrant spirit of the event and celebrating the joy of the game.
The compact nature of Hockey Fives demands quick thinking, precise control, and relentless energy—qualities that were on full display throughout the weekend. Spectators were treated to a series of tightly contested matches that kept the excitement levels high from start to finish.
Kearsney College extends heartfelt thanks to headline sponsor Belgotex Sport for their invaluable support, along with The Courier Guy, Halfway Ford Waterfall, and MG Waterfall for their generous contributions to the success of the event.
