2024 World Athletics U20. Paul Roos Gymnasium athlete, Luke van der Merwe, has made the South African U20 team taking part at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships. The championships will be held in Lima, Peru.
Lima will become the first city in Peru to host a World Athletics Series. The U20 competition will be held this year between 27-31 August.
Luke is hoping to emulate Breyton Poole who took bronze at the 2018 edition of this event, which was held in in Tampere, Finland on 10–15 July 2018.
