World Dance Movement International. Kristina van Wyk dances Her Way to Silver in Italy.
Rhenish Grade 8 learner, Kristina van Wyk, has pirouetted her way onto the international stage. She earned a dazzling second place in the Junior Jazz/Lyrical category at the prestigious World Dance Movement International Dance Festival held in Castellana Grotte, Italy.
Partnering with fellow dancer Heike, Kristina also showcased exceptional artistry and technique. She impressed the panel of elite judges from around the globe. The festival, which draws dancers from over 35 countries, is renowned for its high-caliber performances and transformative workshops.
But Kristina’s journey doesn’t end there. Her talent was further recognized with a 50% scholarship to participate in the Viaggio Danza tour—an elite, itinerant academy that travels across Italy, offering advanced training, masterclasses, and performance opportunities to rising stars in the dance world.
The Viaggio Danza tour is more than just a training ground; it’s a launchpad for young dancers to connect with top choreographers, audition for international companies, and refine their craft in immersive settings like Rome, Milan, and Padua.
🎉 Well done, Kristina! Your dedication, grace, and passion have made your school and community incredibly proud. We can’t wait to see where your dancing feet take you next.
