Seven chess players from Parel Vallei took part in the Western Cape Chess for High School Individuals at Louwville High School in Vredenburg during the last weekend of April.

Individual results:

• Zion Smith (u15 Open) – Result: Won 4.5 out of 6 – Ranked: 7th
• Albert van der Spuy (u15 Open) – Result: Won 4 out of 6 – Ranked: 14th
• Matthew Meyer (u15 Open) – Result: Won 4 out of 6 – Ranked: 15th
• Tyrique Isaacs (u15 Open) – Result: Won 3 out of 6 – Ranked: 37th
• Daniel Kruger (u17 Open) – Result: Won 3 out of 6 -Ranked 39th
• Will van Wyk (u17 Open) – Result: Won 3 out of 6 – Ranked: 48th
• Yi Zheng (u15 Open) – Result: Won 3 out of 6 – Ranked: 48th
