Western Cape Canoe Marathon. Grade 11 learner Jared Shrimpton achieved an impressive double victory at the Provincial Western Cape Canoe Marathon Championships, held recently at the Peninsula Canoe Club.
Jared won the U18 Singles (K1) race and, together with his partner Sam Mocke from Fish Hoek High School, also claimed first place in the U18 Doubles (K2) category.
This prestigious event draws top paddlers from across the province, and Jared’s success is a testament to his commitment, endurance and skill on the water.
Ms. Busi Ngcwama, Head of Sport at Camps Bay High School, expressed her congratulations: “We are incredibly proud of Jared. His determination, discipline and love for the sport shine through in every performance. He is an inspiration to all of us at Camps Bay High.”
