Well-structured Pastoral programme. Durban High School has a well-structured Pastoral programme that gives all boys the opportunity to talk and seek help. In a school environment, young men face unique pressures—whether it’s academic stress, social expectations, or navigating personal identity. Opening up about their challenges and emotions can make a huge difference in how they manage these pressures.
When young men feel comfortable sharing, they not only receive the support they need, but they also help create a culture of empathy and understanding. This openness helps to reduce the stigma around mental health and emotional vulnerability, leading to better well-being and stronger relationships with peers and teachers. By fostering these important conversations, they build a school community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
